Friday 13th June | 7.30pm doors | 8pm start
A night of heavyweight reggae, ska and soulful sounds for the first ever Summer Sounds at the Harland & Wolff Staff Club.
Sister Kush sets the tone with a vinyl set of reggae, ska, dub and soul. Known for her selection of reggae rarities, 2Tone favourites and timeless feel-good grooves, she’ll be warming up the room from 8pm.
The Vibes follow with their acclaimed tribute to Jamaican trombone legend Don Drummond, performing tracks from their album The Vibes Play Don Drummond—a deep dive into the early days of ska with arrangements by UK brass icon Dennis Rollins. Expect classics like Simmer Down, Occupation and Latin Goes Ska, alongside the band’s trademark reggae reworks of Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin and more.
Harland and Wolff is a social club and will have much cheaper drinks than city centre bars!
