Tokyo Jazz Joints x The Strand:Scenes, Stories & Sounds
Join Philip Arneill, creator of the acclaimed Tokyo Jazz Joints documentary project for a special evening blending jazz, Japan and film. By linking film clips with curated tracks on vinyl, Philip will draw connections that will focus on theinfluence of jazz on Japanese culture and movies. This will be contextualised through his experiences photographing the country’s subculture of music cafes known as jazz kissa.
Held in the iconic venue of the Harland & Wolff Staff Club, this will be a unique and immersive evening of stories, music, movies and deep listening.
